Great news for Londoners and visitors to the capital in 2015 and beyond. From September 2015, London underground will be running trains all night at the weekends!
The ‘Night Tube’ will mean that there will be a train every 10 minutes or less on the Central Line, Victoria Line, Northern Line, Jubilee Line and Piccadilly Line. You can see the full details here on the transport for London website.
This is fantastic news for SGI students who don’t want the evening to end and have to rush to try and get the last tube home… which now is at about 12:30am at the weekends. It all means that from September 2015 onwards, people in London will not have to always ask or worry about: When do the last tube trains run?
GETTING TO HEATHROW AIRPORT EARLY IN THE MORNING
Another excellent advantage of the night-time service for our students is getting to Heathrow very early in the morning. The Piccadilly line goes from the centre of London direct to all terminals at Heathrow airport. Lots of our students fly in and out from all over the world, arriving and departing at Heathrow airport. A lot of these flights are very early in the morning at the weekend when the tube is currently not running. So that means you need to take the expensive Heathrow Express train or get a taxi.
From September 2015, that will not be a problem anymore. You will be able to arrive at Heathrow very early in the morning using the safe and cheap underground system.

THE TUBE IS GETTING BETTER
The Night tube is not the only improvement that is planned for London Underground.
The tube will have lots of new trains in the future. Thankfully, these will have super modern carriages with air-conditioning. Yay!!!!
