Social Programme in London March 30th week

We have another great week of events planned for social programme activities around London for our lovely students this week.

Monday has two 'drinks and conversation' events one after the other.

First meet teacher Ben in the Word cafe next to the school in Margaret Street. Then you can continue the chat with teacher, Soteria in The Adam and Eve pub (just around the corner from the school, but a little bit nearer to Oxford Street) from 4:45pm onwards.

Tuesday is this week's theatre/musical trip.

It's an incredible trip to see one of the most famous musicals of all time: Phantom of the Opera. The tickets for this top show are usually £65 or more. However, the SGI students get the best seats in the house for just £25!!! Make sure you sign your name at school reception early for this one to guarantee a place, as tickets are limited.

You can see a snippet of 'Phantom' in the video below of our student social programme for this week.

After lessons finish on Wednesday, there is a trip to the Victoria and Albert Museum in Kensington. This is famous for being a cool design related museum and at the moment there is a 'hot ticket' (meaning that it is VERY popular and everyone wants to go there) exhibition of the late fashion designer, Alexander McQueen. (If you describe someone as 'late' in English, that means that they are dead). Take a look at his amazing dresses that he created for women.

On Thursday, teacher and expert London tourist guide, Owen will take the students around Camden on one of his famous and super interesting guided walks. His little doggy Jess will be leading the way, as you go from Regents Park through Camden (one of the most popular tourist attractions of London) and finishes up at the house where Amy Winehouse lived and died.

Friday is a club night with 'Lost in London'. They will be leading you on a tour of 7 different clubs in the West End. Not bad, right?

On Friday there is also going to be lots of Easter Egg hunt activities and attractions around various areas of London. Ask at reception for more details if you fancy trying to hunt for some chocolate eggs. ('If you fancy' means 'if you would like')

There is a special countryside walk on Saturday. A teacher will take you on the train to the Surrey countryside and walk through the beautiful green fields and forests to enable you to get out of the city and breath the lovely country air!  ðŸ™‚
