Pub, Soho Walk, Museum of London and Phantom of the Opera

This week started off with Ben and Jon taking everyone to the pub for the welcome drinks. We have stopped buying drinks for the students but it didn't seem to put anyone off with bottles of wine being bought all over the place. They talked a lot about accents, especially the Spanish one, with Ben giving demonstrations and loving the attention!

On Tuesday myself and Owen took everyone on the Soho tour. We started off at the school and went through Soho learning facts about the IRA as well as John Snow who helped cure a terrible water born illness many years ago. We went to Theatre Land, Trafalgar Square and Downing Street, finishing up by Westminster. It was a cold afternoon but we all enjoyed ourselves immensely. On Wednesday Danielle took everyone to the Museum of London, well known as being my favourite museum. They loved learning about Roman London and how interactive the exhibit was. They saw the Victorian Pleasure Garden and Shops and learnt about London through the ages.  Our weekly theatre trip this week was Phantom of the Opera, which I have still not seen, but after finding out that one of our students, Elisa, has been three times I have decided that next time I will be joining everyone for a musical night out. Having seen it in Spanish and English, she said it was just as good in both languages and a must see for anyone who loves musicals and the theatre. Have a great weekend now the weather has become milder.
