Socials – 4th Nov – 8th Nov

Hi Everyone,   On Monday, Jemma and Tim took the students to our local pub and like true Brits they talked about the weather! The weather is a big topic at the moment as the temperature has dropped quite a bit! Winter is well and truly on its way! Another topic they spoke about was about walking tours in London. One student mentioned about 'Free Walking tour London', so if you are all interested you could research and go on one. There are a lot of free things to see and do in London! It was a windy afternoon on Tuesday but that didn't stop some students trekking down to St.Paul's with Hannah, crossing the Thames river and then walking to Tate Modern to see some modern art. We went to the free exhibitions on and enjoyed all the 'interesting' art on display. The party animals then went to the pub after the gallery for a cheeky pint! Here's a picture.. photo (1) On Wednesday, Owen took the students to see one of the most romantic shows in the West End, "The Bodyguard" which includes the famous 'I will always love you' song. Feedback from the students was that it was very very romantic and soppy. They got a complete bargain though as they only paid £26 for their tickets with fabulous seats. On Thursday, Owen took the students on a 'Camden Town and the World of Amy Winehouse'  walk. They walked through Regent's Park, past London Zoo, along the canals and waterways of London along the exciting Camden Market and finished their walk at the house where Amy Winehouse lived and died. Students that I spoke to said they really enjoyed the walk and learnt a great deal about Amy Winehouse. Tonight there is a Boat Party on HMS President, we've sold a few tickets already, so if you're going have a fab time! Have a great weekend, this weekend Regent Street is turning its lights on!   Danielle 🙂
