SGI Life in London

Experience 'London Life' with St George International

Although studying and learning English is the main reason you have come to England, we firmly believe that it is important for you to relax and enjoy yourself as well.

There is no better city than London in which to do this. At SGI we want you to experience British culture and get to know as much of London as possible. Our social organisers will help you make the most out of your stay – however short or long it may be – in the most exciting city in the world. We believe that SGI's social programme will help you have a memorable time in London, making new friends, meeting lots of interesting people and most importantly, improving your English!

Through our social programme the staff at St George International will ensure that you enjoy everything this great city has to offer. Check out the SGI latest events & other happenings in the school. Also, see below some of SGI's memorable past events at The English Blog:

Royal Garden Walk, Jersey Boys, Imperial War Museum and Welcome Drinks

Imp War Mus 26.2.12

This week started off with a game of cards in the pub as well as some general chit chat (in English!) amongst the 20 students that Danielle and I took to the pub. There was typical talk of English weather now that winter seems to have finally arrived as well as discussions on football, (which [...]

Natural History Museum, Welcome Drinks, Soho Walk and We Will Rock You

Nat Hist mus 25.1.12

This week got off to a bang with the usual Monday afternoon welcome drinks with Ben and the lovely Danielle. They took around fifteen students to the Adam and Eve for what has become the usual pub banter. I popped along a little later on to say ‘hi’ to everyone and there was plenty [...]

La Soiree, Chat in the Local, Soho Walk and The National Portrait Gallery

Julia and some of the many students that came with us to the pub for a chat

On Monday Julia and I took 26 students to the Adam and Eve, the schools local. Julia had a rather intense conversation with some students regarding sexism at work whilst I was engaged in football chat with a Brazilian, which is by no means less stressful!  Aside from that, we discussed the difficulties in finding work [...]

Jack The Ripper, Welcome Drinks, Museum of London and Shakespeare

Museum of London 11.1.12

This is my first blog as the new social coordinator after taking over from the lovely Jenny who is leaving us to work at our school in Delhi, SGI India. It’s been an interesting new week for me as well as the students. On Monday, myself and Gavin took around 15 students (new and old) [...]

Pub Drinks, Christmas Market & Thriller…

Christmas Market

Not the most eventful week this week, but still some good things! The school has definitely become calmer and students are gradually disappearing! Next week we’ll only have about 25 people here! On Monday, as usual, we went to the pub. Charlie & Julia accompanied the students to the Adam & Eve. They had a [...]
