General Intensive mini-group & Academic Standard

I have been learning English from October 2016 to June 2017 at SGI. I feel that the school has helped me to achieve my goal of improving my English. I was encouraged to work at a level which always challenged me. Because the teachers gave homework each day and corrected it, I feel I improved greatly by the conversation’s class (speaking). The dialogue with the “Student Support officer” contributed so much by encouraging and orienting my studies. This talking helped me to be aware, to focus on my aim and it also was a good opportunity to practice speaking. I always received the workbooks that help to cheek my level and knowledge in learning English.

Furthermore, the social program was an opportunity to practice my spoken English with my colleagues. I greatly enjoyed the company of friends and the lovely dog “Jess” as we visited many famous sites in the city of London.

Moreover, the teachers were patient and kind; they understood the level of my English. They explained details in an easy and clear manner. They focused on the positives which made me feel comfortable and mistakes were corrected in a polite way; this encouraged the students to move up and to become more confident.

What I liked is creativity in preparing the lessons because they always brought something new which helped to add vocabulary and to practise this language in a different way.

On the negative side, computers were slow and we sometimes had to wait too long for audio tapes. Also the rooms got stuffy affecting our concentration.

I would like to thank all the staff and teachers for their care in fostering good relationships with us.  This made me feel welcomed. I am grateful for all you have done for me during my staying at SGI.

May God bless and keep you.

An interesting perspective of the economic world combined with a stimulating teaching style that encourages critical thinking. It totally exceeded my expectations.
