Learn English with a Professional Internship
Our Work Experience programme is available to EU and Swiss citizens only and is aimed at pre-university students, undergraduates or graduates in their early career.
Candidates should be minimum 18 years of age, with an intermediate English language level (equivalent to IELTS 5.0, B1 on the Common European Framework). If your language level is only the minimum required, you should expect mainly basic tasks and apply for sectors such as business administration, customer service or fashion. Other sectors, such as law, PR or advertising, would require a much higher English language level. Candidates will need to telephone St George International shortly after their application for a short interview to confirm their English language level.
Although experience is not essential in all sectors, it is a considerable advantage, and candidates should at least have an educational qualification, or be studying towards an educational qualification which is relevant to their chosen internship. In many sectors, for example advertising, companies will only be interested in interns who hold a degree specific to the sector – such as media studies. In most cases, University or college students will be preferred, although it is not necessary to have graduated.
