Learn English this SUMMER
SGI
Saint George International Language School

SGI is one of the oldest language schools in London with over 47 years of teaching English to people from all over the world

Hi %%Firstname%%,

We're having a typically busy summer here in London. There is a great lively atmosphere in the school and I'm so pleased to see that we continue to have such a good mix of nationalities and such a diverse student body doing our full range of courses. As always we have a great social programme in the summer period. See below our feature on some of the fantastic trips and events that we're going to have in August.

If you are thinking of coming again, don't worry... we still have plenty of space!

Max Loach
School Director

St George International will have a new face!

At SGI we're currently doing a major rebranding of our image. It will be modern, professional and very cool. Stay tuned because in our next newsletter we'll be revealing it!

Meet friends and study English together

You can repeat your English vocabulary, do your homework together and help each other with English grammar. Studying with friends simply is much more fun.

When you study with us, you'll have access to the E-learning community page, where you can study, interact with other students and make friends.

It's also a good opportunity to exchange ideas on studying in general. Maybe your friends have found out about a good way of studying more effectively. Or, who knows, maybe you can advise your friends on this?

August school's social activities

- Visit to the National History Museum;
- Watch London from the River Thames during a boat trip;
- See the latest exhibitions on a visit to the Tate Modern;
- Chat and make friends with other students on a visit to a local pub or cafe;
- Much, much more... just join us!

English tip of the month

- Why are those witches wearing tags?
- So we can tell which witch is which.

When do we use witch or which? What's the difference? A witch is a woman who practices magic or has magical powers - just like Hermione in Harry Potter. On the other hand, the first which being used as pronoun. However, which is which is a set expression used to talk about distinguishing one thing or person from another.
Why not doing our English test online and check your level of English?

What's happening in London?

While you're learning English in London, why not visit the Summer Opening of the State Rooms at the Buckingham Palace? This event happens only once every year and the State Rooms that form the heart of the working palace are lavishly furnished with some of the greatest treasures from the Royal Collection.

Or why not watch the latest Harry Potter movie "Harry Potter and the Half-Breed Prince" at IMAX 3D London?

"I took a two-week intensive Swedish language course at SGI and I’m very satisfied with the standard of teaching and the friendly and efficient way in which it was organised."

Nordic Bureau Chief - Financial Times

"After taking a course in SGI I attained excellent results at IELTS and a place at Oxford University. I have recommended the school to my younger sister which I think is the best evidence that SGI is the best place to study and make friends in London."
