Learn English in Your Teacher’s Home
Home tuition courses are available in General English, Examination Preparation, Business English and special programmes for Young Learners. Most courses are one-to-one, but if you wish to study with a friend or colleague whose language level and learning objectives are the same as yours, then we will be able to arrange a two-to-one programme for you.
With the Saint George International language school located in Central London, we are also able to arrange a Home Tuition / London Group Course Combination. All courses are available throughout the year and usually start every Monday.
General English
You may choose to have 20, 25 or 30 lessons per week with your teacher with additional homework to prepare for the next day’s studies. Because it is extremely important for us to match you with a tutor who shares your interests, lessons may also be based on your hobbies and interests – for example literature, history or sport.
Unlike with a traditional school based language course, there is no possibility of mixing with speakers of your own language, and because of the full immersion nature of your programme, you will be using your newly acquired skills from the moment you wake up to the moment you go to bed!

Examination Preparation
As an option to your General English Programme, you may also wish to prepare for an English language examination, for example IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC, Cambridge FCE, CAE or CPE. If you require intensive revision for an upcoming examination, you will be amazed at what can be achieved just in a week or two with a one-to-one tutor.

Business English
Home Tuition Business English Courses are ideal for busy professionals who need to rapidly improve their English but have little time available – for example to prepare for an upcoming marketing trip, presentation, negotiation or relocation.
For any specialized needs, courses can be created to focus on sectors including law, media, marketing, finance, engineering, medicine or IT. Please contact to ensure your specialization can be covered and when the tutors are available.
Although course contents will be tailored to your individual requirements, popular areas of study are:
- Presenting successfully in English
- The language of meetings and discussions
- Developing general and specialist vocabulary
- Grammar and pronunciation exercises
- Negotiating effectively in English
- Specialist language for effective communication by telephone and email

English for Young Learners
This course is suitable for motivated young students aged 14 and above (students aged 11-13 may be conditionally accepted with a weekly supplement) who want to quickly improve speaking, listening and general English skills, and gain confidence in an English speaking environment. Students are placed with tutors who have been specifically selected for their skills in teaching younger students.
Students learn English through activities and excursions with their teacher and there is a full and busy timetable of social activities outside of lesson time with maximum opportunity for language practice with your teacher and family. Fees include expenses incurred during activity-based learning with the teacher.
You may choose to have 25 or 30 lessons per week with your teacher with additional homework to prepare for the next day’s studies.

Home Tuition / London Group Course Combination
Saint George International arranges both group and one-to-one courses at our language school in Central London. Because of this, students are able to take Home Tuition lessons before joining a group programme. In this way, they may gain confidence by working on personal areas of weakness before joining a group, or even raise their language level before joining a level restricted course.
