SGI Partner School's social programme is designed to take in all of Munich's highlights, including art at the Pinakothek der Moderne, the Alte Pinakothek and the Neue Pinakothek; a tour through Castle Nymphenburg or Bayern München's new stadium, the Allianz-Arena, or just a day of relaxation at the famous English Garden - Munich's Central Park.
For beer drinkers, there really is nowhere better than Munich - spend the day at the Hofbrauhaus - probably world's most famous pub, or, coincide your language course with the world's biggest and best beer festival, the Oktoberfest (September 19th to October 4th 2009)
Further afield, there are plenty of places to visit. Not far away are the Bavarian Alps for skiing or walking, and the lake area of Chiemsee, Ammersee and Starnberger See. For more culture, take part in an excursion to Mozart's native city, Salzburg, Augsburg, Regensburg or King Ludwig's fairy tale castle Neuschwanstein.
