Living in Malaga
Learning Spanish in Spain
Residential accommodation
As the school's 110 room residence is in the same building as the school, it is the ideal accommodation for those students who want to live in a mini-campus environment and gain the maximum benefit from the excellent leisure facilities.
The residence offers standard single rooms, twin rooms and executive rooms, all en-suite and with direct dial phones. Academic and leisure facilities are all close at hand: the classrooms, the Multimedia Study Centre, the cinema, the restaurant, bar and pool. There is a 24-hour reception where you can also rent cars, read newspapers, buy cold and hot drinks and access the internet.
Shared student apartments
The apartments are simply but comfortably furnished and in all of them you will find a shared living room with a TV, at least one bathroom and a kitchen where you will find a (clothes) washing machine as well as cooking facilities and equipment.
Apartments are categorized as follows:
- Type A apartments - 10 minutes walk from school, air conditioned, high level of furnishings, swimming-pool (May to October)
- Type B apartments - Maximum 30 minutes from school, close to public transport, comfortable furnishings
Homestay
By choosing to stay in a host family you will benefit from the maximum level of contact with day-to-day Spanish as spoken by a typical family and a unique insight into the Spanish way of life. Homestays are located approximately 10 to 30 minutes from school. Living in host family you will:
- Have the opportunity to practice your Spanish in the most realistic everyday situations
- Have the support of the host family during your stay
- Learn about Spanish customs and way of life
- Eat Spanish food at Spanish mealtimes!
- Have a unique experience
Homestay accommodation is on a half-board basis which usually consists of a light, "continental" breakfast and a substantial lunch. An evening meal can sometimes be offered instead of lunch by arrangement with the family. However, you should remember that lunch is traditionally the main meal of the day and the moment when the family tends to get together - your best chance to practise your Spanish! You can choose a single room or to share a twin room with another student.
