Teaching - Language Course methodology
How your SGI Language Course will be delivered
SGI have been validated by Trinity College London to train people to teach English to speakers of other languages since 1993 and have been inspected and accredited by the British Council for our English language courses since 1992.
This has meant that, particularly for the last 15 years, we have had to keep apace of all developments within language teaching methodology and theory to meet the demands set by our accrediting bodies. As a result we are fully able to utilize a number of key approaches that are commonly accepted within the language teaching community as being effective and stimulating for the language learning classroom. These are primarily the Communicative Language Teaching Approach, Task-based Learning and the Lexical Approach.
Learner Style
An important point to make here is that whatever the methodology or approach utilized – we recognize that people learn in different ways, some people are more visual, others are more analytical and so on. With this in mind we make it a priority to ensure our teachers are able to cater for different learner styles.
The SGI Way
We have worked hard to achieve our reputation for excellence. In essence, we believe our continued success is built on...
- our determination to continuously improve the language courses we provide.
- our holistic approach to your language learning...... your learning is not just confined to the classroom or to your stay with us.
- our systematic approach to recycling work that you have covered.
- our ability to connect to people, put them at ease and so ensure they participate fully.
