Nori

General English Course

Nori is an SGI student from Japan who has been living in London for 6 months. He studies a General English Course which includes 6 lessons a day from 9.15am to 3pm, Monday to Friday. He goes to group classes of up to 14 students in the morning and has one-to-one lessons in the afternoon. We are eager to find out what he thinks of London and learning English at SGI.

Despite his modesty, Nori has made a significant improvement in his English, moving from the Elementary class to the Upper-Intermediate level in a short 6 months. Compared to when he first arrived, Nori can now construct his own sentences using the vocabulary and grammar he has learned, rather than relying on his electronic dictionary to get by. He has had great experiences both in the class and outside and often socializes with other classmates after school. Nori will be leaving us in a few months and his aim before he leaves is to learn more vocabulary and also some Business English so he can return to his job in Japan with complete confidence in his English skills.
