1. EXCELLENT INSPECTION GRADES FOR SGI LONDON- Accreditation by Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI)

   SGI London is delighted to announce that the latest ISI inspection results show that we ‘exceed expectations’ as an English language school. The ISI is a British Government approved accreditation body for educational oversight of private further education.

   Here’s what the ISI say! “Course provision and curriculum are excellent. The school focuses effectively on meeting students’ personal goals and learning needs. A well-designed tutorial system and e-learning platform are used to provide up-to-date information on students’ learning targets, which teachers incorporate into weekly planning. Teaching is good or outstanding. Highly skilled and knowledgeable teachers plan effectively to challenge and encourage all learners. Students are very motivated, take ownership of their learning and make excellent progress......”

   

2. SGI INDIA WIN MASSIVE COLLEGE CONTRACT

   SGI India is proud to announce that they have won the contract to teach English to 1500 students at the Mahatma Gandhi Inter College in Gorakhpur in Eastern Utter Pradesh State. This followed a successful pilot program ran by SGI for 60 students of the college in January and February of this year.

   The three month training program focusing on English Communication is due to start in August and is a special course designed to meet the needs of the students who are typically 16 -18 years old with very little exposure to English.

   This success comes hard on the heels of our continuing contract at the Lovely Professional University in Jalandhar, Punjab State where we are teaching English to international students on undergraduate courses in the high-tech environment of one of India’s largest universities.

3. ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL TEACHER REFRESHER COURSE HELD AT SGI MOSCOW

   David Birch, one of SGI’s most senior and respected teacher trainers, has just returned to London from Moscow after delivering another successful round of Teacher Refresher courses at the Moscow school. This is the third time teacher refresher courses have been successfully delivered in Moscow by one of our London team of teacher trainers. As always, two sizeable groups were taught over a week and once again the feedback has been excellent, more courses are planned for the summer.

4. EARLY SPRING COURSES SHOWCASE FLEXIBILITY AND PROFESSIONALISM OF TEACHERS AT SGI ITALY

   SGI Italy has just successfully organised and completed a short and focused course for teenagers at a Technical Fashion and Design Secondary school in Vicenza. The key challenge lay in making the course engaging with a strong oral communication focus whilst at the same time preparing them for a Cambridge KET or PET exam. Excellent results have been achieved!

   Another exciting challenge has been the  ‘Drama in English’ course for 6-8 year olds at a local primary school,  which demonstrate how teaching children is about so much more than just language!. The extremely popular lessons combine developing expressiveness, teamwork and spatial awareness through English songs, physical activities and performing mini sketches. Great fun for the kids!
