Oxford is famous for academic excellence. With its world-famous university and beautiful college buildings, it is easy to see why so many people have been inspired by Oxford.

The river provides a great venue for rest and relaxation, as do the many green parks and cycle ways. There is a plentiful supply of theatres, nightclubs, cinemas and live music venues throughout the city. In short, Oxford is a great place to study English.

- Oxford graduate Tim Berners-Lee is credited for inventing the Internet.
- The Holywell Music Room, built in 1748, is the oldest music performance hall in Europe.
