For ambitious students, this course takes place at Brasenose College – one of Oxford University’s most historic venues, and is designed for young learners who want to gain experience of life at an elite university. The course includes lessons in a range of subjects and talks by University lecturers.

The course includes 54 hours of lessons in the following subjects:

  • Global Politics and International Relations
  • Maths
  • Science
  • English Literature

Study skills sessions will help students develop higher order thinking skills. Activities during these sessions include note taking and summarising, formulating a viewpoint and expressing opinions, essay writing skills and exam techniques.

A lecture programme by Oxford University lecturers will explore a range of topics drawn from philosophy, international relations, history, English literature and science. Students will also gain knowledge of what is required to become an Oxford University student.

Study tour excursions:

London – river cruise and walking history exploring London through the ages

Bath – visit to this historic city and its Roman baths

A guided tour of Christchurch College Oxford including scenes associated with Harry Potter and Alice in Wonderland.

Activities

A stimulating activity programme when lessons and lectures are over includes sports, music quiz night, drama session and murder mystery, games and competitions. On the final evening, students are invited to a formal dinner in the historic Brasenose College Hall.
