IELTS Intensive Course London

The IELTS Intensive course at SGI London combines the morning IELTS Preparation course (9.15 – 12.45) and an afternoon General English mini-group (13.30- 15.00). The afternoon class is a great way of working on your speaking and listening skills and complements perfectly the more exam oriented morning class. You can enrol onto the IELTS Intensive course in London every Monday throughout the year provided you have at least an Intermediate level of English or higher.

IELTS is the most well-known and popular test of English language proficiency for non-native speakers of English who are considering taking a degree course at a British university or other UK higher education institute. IELTS has also become increasingly popular among individuals who want to show on their CVs that they have a proven level of English having taken an internationally recognised test such as IELTS.

As well as improving your all-round competence in English and vital exam tactics, the IELTS intensive course here at SGI London also focuses on learning strategies and academic skills that will help in later higher education: for example, note taking and researching  projects in a library.

The mini-group in the afternoon allows the tutor to focus on the immediate needs of the students whilst improving listening and speaking skills, expanding vocabulary and developing confidence. Activities range from discussions of issues and topics such as travel, film, culture and politics through to project work based around internet research or creating a student newsletter. Study may be integrated with cultural visits outside the classroom. The emphasis is on group work and effective oral communication.
