Summary of afternoon visits (All entrance fees included in the course fee)
Monday: Victoria and Albert Museum, in South Kensington; Spanning four centuries, the V&A’s Fashion collection is the largest and most comprehensive collection in the world with fashion items on display from as far back as the 17thcentury right up to the present day.
Tuesday: Fashion and Textile Museum, in Bermondsey; The Fashion and Textile Museum Collection highlights the changing face of contemporary fashion from 1947 to the present day with a number of key garments from designers including Christian Dior, Balenciaga, Biba, Mary Quant and Vivienne Westwood. The visit includes entrance to the special exhibition 'The world of Anna Sui' Anna Sui is the classic American fashion designer. From Detroit to New York, her signature rock-n-roll romanticism reinvents pop culture for every new generation.
Wednesday: Visit to Harrods Department Store, Knightsbridge ……… This is a great visit to the world's most famous department store - the definition of luxury shopping. Harrods has the most fantastic range of top designer fashion on display, including shop designer women wear from top brands including Alexander McQueen, Givenchy and MaxMara.
Thursday: Victoria and Albert Museum, in South Kensington. We return to the V & A for the exhibition ‘Undressed: A brief History of Underwear’. This collection of over 200 exhibits, addresses both the practicalities of underwear and its role in the fashionable wardrobe whilst highlighting its sensual, sexual appeal.
Friday: This fabulous event is part of London Fashion Week and takes place at the famous Store Studios in the Strand. This super afternoon includes: Catwalk Shows, an exclusive shopping opportunity featuring 150 designers, and a free limited edition designer bag.
