Friendly host families and comfortable homes
The majority of our students stay with homestay hosts. The School Accommodation Officer monitors the quality of service provided.
Many students choose to stay in a single room with breakfast and evening meal from Monday to Friday, with full board at the weekends. This is a popular choice because it provides a good opportunity to experience the way of life in England, it helps you to practise your English, and it is good value for money. The homestay host provides towels, sheets, pillows and duvet, and laundry will be generally done once or twice a week.
Unless requested, you will not be in the same homestay as another speaker of the same language. Shared rooms are available but this is limited during the winter. It is a good idea to arrange your accommodation well in advance. If you book late in the busy summer months of July and August you may have to share a room.
Students arrive on a Sunday and leave on a Saturday. Extra days may be possible and there is a charge for this. Please check with the Accommodation Office regarding availability.
If you change your homestay you need to give one week’s notice to the Accommodation Officer. If you do not, you will have to pay one week’s cancellation fee. If you are a long-stay student and you decide to take a holiday from School, you will have to pay a ‘retainer fee’ to keep your room.
