R&R 23: Received Pronunciation v South African English
English Conversation Real & Relevant Podcast 23
The Pod welcomes Rob and his Received Pronunciation accent. This is what you sound like if you have been publicly-educated in England! Although Rob has a “Queen’s English” accent, he can also do a very good impression of a South African English accent because he is studying at university there.

Would it be possible to give us an RSS feed for these podcasts rather than forcing us to go via iTunes
Hi Will,
We are working on a new website solely for the podcasts and the transcript material that will go alongside each audio. When that website goes live, then there will be an RSS feed dedicated to these podcasts (instead of every single blog post). Sorry about the wait, but we are extremely busy… it’s coming though. In the meantime, I’ll try to email you each time a new podcast is up
Happy to hear about
RSS feed coming thru
for the podcasts.
I use my cell phone to
listen to podcasts, and I can not install iTunes on cell phone.
Please tell me how long it might take…to provide the RSS Feeds instead of iTunes.
Thanks
Good podcast but a little irritating hearing the constant references to German when Afrikaans is from Dutch and not German! Sorry but I felt compelled to say it having Dutch and South African relatives!!
Sorry for the German mentions, Maxine. I didn’t mean to imply that Afrikaans is wholly descended from German. It’s just that I also speak German and there were some noticeable and surprising similarities. I really love the way you can find sister words across seemingly unrelated languages (I’m noticing some in Spanish and Russian now).
Anyway, as stated, these conversations aren’t planned (so that they are completely natural) so we can make some mistakes from time to time…just like in everyday chat.
Hope it didn’t spoil your enjoyment toooo much.
